Instructor Development Course

There’s just something different about clipping a pair of instructor slates to your BCD for the first time, because it signifies that now—you’re the one in charge. Regardless of your background or your experience as a Scuba Diver, we can guarantee that our Instructor Development Course will be a unique challenge that provides you with a whole new set of skills.

So strap in to your BCD and don’t forget your mask, snorkel, and fins. Once upon a time, you descended beneath the waves, settled on the sand at La Jolla Shores, and waited patiently for your instructor to lead you. Now, you’ll settle on the same sandy bottom, survey your students and raise your hand in a big “Okay!” You’re in charge now! And just like that you’re off to the races.

From teaching students within the classroom, to the pool, to the ocean you’ll learn to master it all. You’ll learn to certify PADI Open Water divers, and teach people to breathe underwater. But it doesn’t stop there—in fact, that’s just the beginning. You’ll learn to teach the Advanced Open Water Course, Rescue Diver Course, and even professional divers in the Divemaster Course. Knot tying, lift bags, navigation, rescuing panicked divers, surfacing unconscious divers, and guiding local dives are just some of a few areas that we’ll challenge you with.
